What A Weekend
Have you noticed that most of my posts are about the weekends?? That's what happens when you work nearly twelve hours a day most days. This is my weekend on-call. I spent most of the afternoon after work yesterday chasing around a white-tailed deer while a "wildlife rehab" guy who knows what it feels like to have "benzodiazepine withdrawls" told me via speaker cell phone that the deer had numerous medical conditions that it was not showing signs of. Frankly, he didn't even know what the conditions actually consisted of....except for the internet versions.
First he said, "Put it in a kennel."
Then he said, "Don't put it in a kennel."
Then he said, "Put it in a smaller enclosure."
Then he told me it had grass tetany.
It did not have grass tetany.
Maybe the guy would be smarter if he got back on the benzodiazepines.
I worked all night and a heeler that ate compost threw up on my shoe. It stinks. It really, really stinks. Like compost. I got three calls in the middle of the night and to top it all off my refrigerator and freezer went out while I was gone all day. Everything thawed and had to be cleaned and thrown away. I worked all morning so it all had to rot in there for a day and a half. Yummy.
Thank you to the maintenance guy who came and saved the day during the hour and a half I was home this afternoon.
Must go see a listless terrier. Peace out.
