There are a lot of baddies out there
My husband always says, "There are a lot of baddies out there." It makes sense in his profession. Our dog, Stewdy, thinks he's right. Stewdy is afraid of his own shadow. Every time it's Kyle's turn to let the dog outside to potty he open the back door and says, "Go get those baddies!" Stewdy slinks out the door turning at every leaf blowing and cowering at impending dangers. He barks at Cody's bow target. He barks at anything the wind blows. He barks at nothing at all! He has finally been able to go out by himself for a few minutes without escort to do his business.
Tonight when I got home from work, Stewdy was trembling with excitement to get in the door to go see his daddy. He comes to work with me during the week when no one is home all day. He looks for Kyle and jumps up to greet him. He gets so excited when he sees him that he pees a little. He doesn't mean to---it's just that he can't quite control himself! Poor guy. After all the hubub he goes down the hall to Cody's room (which is dark because no one is in there) and comes out backwards barking. He continues this dance until I follow him down the hall and turn on the light in the room. Stewdy sits and stares at the closet door and then stares at me. I asked him if something was in there but he didn't answer. I opened one door and he eased around the corner, backing up and then going forward until nothing jumped out at him. He smelled everything in there. When he was satisfied that no baddies were lurking in the closet we closed the doors, turned off the light, and retreated to the living room.
We have a lot of baddies to conquer.
As a side note, today I got Stewdy a blue shirt with spiderman on it. The shirt reads, "I do all my own stunts."
Appropriate for Stewdy Baker, I think.
