We all know that God used to grown them bigger "back in the day" right? The crocs were 3 times the size they are now. Well, Titanoboa is the biggest snake ever. It used to eat those big crocs. They can't decide whether its more like an anaconda or a boa constrictor. It had more teeth than either. This thing was 40 feet long and weighed more than a ton. A WHOLE TON. That's more than 2000 pounds of SNAKE! It's fascinating where they found it -- in the lowland tropics of northern Columbia underneath one of the world's largest coal operations. They found it's intact skull. And a vertebrae. It's really quite phenominal.
I hated comparative anatomy but you all know I find snake research fascinating. I wish I would have been in on this one. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
