Long in the tooth, tooth in the long
The last few weeks have yielded too many visits to the dentist. It started two weeks ago with me getting a filling replaced. Apparently the fillings I'd gotten in high school (has it really been that long?) were starting to crack and needed to be redone. I had one that fractured and they replaced it. Today I had two more done. I'm typically not that dentist-shy but I refused the gas last time and was wishing I had just bitten the bullet and paid extra for it. Those needles they stick in your gums are no joke. Today, I didn't get numb. That means I had to get more needles in my gums. It was awful even with gas. And I got a palatal block. Do you know what that means? A big needle in the roof of my mouth. Ouch. The whole left side of my face was numb and I couldn't blind my left eye. Talk about weird. I didn't care that much as long as there was no drilling going on again without my being numb.
I left the dentist and came home to pick up my husband and take him to the oral surgeon. While he was in Indiana last month he woke up with a swollen jaw and an infected, impacted wisdom tooth. After suffering for a week it was finally time to go get them out. We got there on time and had to wait an entire hour and ten minutes. Then he went in and 35 minutes later he was done. Needless to say we are both holed up on the couch tonight with sore jaws - his worse than mine. Cody is set to go get 3 of his taken out at the end of the month. You can imagine how dentist-poor we are now...haha. I don't want to go back for a long, long time.
