Slowin' Things Down A Bit...
The title of this post is a double headed Janus. I mean the point of having an injury is slowing things down and trying to rehabilitate. I feel so many emotions about being injured...
1) It hurts.
2) I am limited, which is frustration.
3) It hurts.
4) It's going to get worse before it gets better, which is a little scary.
5) I'm tired because I can't sleep
But wait....amidst all this whining (don't call the whaaaammmbulance yet) -
6) Blessed.
Sometimes it takes extreme measures to knock some sense into busy life. Since I've been on injury leave I have not missed one of Cody's wrestling matches/tournaments. Not one. And I can't tell you how much it has meant to me. I have become a wrestling mom, a booster club parent, a friend to the other parents and I have gotten to share irreplaceable moments with Cody. Moments of pride and excitement, moments of heartbreak, moments of sweaty exhaustion. All this and lots of moments of Algebra II that we both wish hadn't lasted so long. I am home when Kyle gets home and I was home to take care of him after his surgery. It makes one rethink all the busy craziness. Is it really worth it?
In the meantime...are you ready for some wrestling pics???
