A Great Day for the Cowboys
Not a bad showing today for the Pokes against the Aggies. I wish I could have been there to see them play.Sabrina and Jana are coming to visit this week and I am so excited to have the company and to visit and enjoy myself a little! I do have to work on Friday but they are coming with me to check out the clinic. The weather has been absolutely beautiful lately - my absolute favorite. Since I'm new to this location I haven't really explored much to do around the area, although I have found some fabulous Italian food in a nearby town and some great shopping locations. I do miss Tulsa and Stillwater though. I probably always will unless I'm living there.
The clinic was abnormally slow today for a Saturday- a few preg checks on some cows and the typical small animal clients. The company is usually good on Saturday and serves to entertain a bit more than during the week and an added plus was that there wasn't one single C-section all day! I was able to get the OSU game broadcast on Yahoo! Live College Broadcasts on my computer at home and listen to the game. I also must report that I had a strawberry vanilla Coke from the local drive-in, since the clinic orders out lunch on the weekend, and it was really good.
On another note I've been reading "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. At first I was semi-annoyed at her cavalier attitude (or what I took to be cavalier) toward the decision to end her marriage but I have moved past my little emotional hiccup to thoroughly enjoy her adventures in Italy. I am proud to say that I remember some of my college Italian reading the excerpts in the book and I'm learning some new phrases although many consist of cuss words in Italian. I suppose I have a plethora of opportunities to express myself with them and better yet, no one will know what I'm saying! There is a certain kind of freedom in that. I do find myself giggling in familiarity or pure amusement reading certain passages in the book.
Until tomorrow: "Attraversiamo."
