Making Banana Pancakes

I'm taking the Jack Johnson song to a whole new place...actually making the banana pancakes. And oh my gosh, they are so good. These aren't my typical Pioneer-out-of-the-box concoctions. These are made from scratch, leftover, batter from the filled pancakes last week. I added bananas and they are so, so good. I have tons of batter left...anyone for brunch?

What a great Sunday to have coffee after reflecting on the Lord's day. It's cloudy and cool, HGTV has fun shows on and did I mention the banana pancakes? Now, don't get me wrong. My life isn't all a wonderful, romantic Sunday - just the pancakes. I still have to pay bills and pack and go and pick up my pager for 6am on-call. And that right there is enough to make me quake in my boots. We do about 5 times more emergency calls than anyone else I know. This is not my favorite. And sometimes I get the craziest things and the craziest people after hours. African grey parrots. That's all I have to say. Oh, and 4th of July 2009.

I recently read in the New York Times that they are having this really cool snapshot in time thing where photographers from all over the world take a picture of the world at one point in time and NYT will put it all together. How neat is that?? I think I probably already missed the deadline...it will take me that long to figure out what time 15:00 is. But what a neat idea.
Now that I've done all this talking (writing) about banana pancakes, I don't have time to eat them (a good thing). I must get to work on my gargantuan to-do list and pay my mortgage, and so on. If anyone is hungry, feel free to pop on in. I will be sitting in a corner, my arms over my knees, rocking and waiting....waiting for the shrill awful noise of the pager to go off. Okay, so I'm exaggerating. Slightly. It's not that bad. Most of the time. But I will sit and talk myself into being a payment nazi to avoid 300 billion people who don't pay their bills. It's getting to be ridiculous. Wishing a wonderful Sunday and many, many banana pancakes to all of you...
