The Ants are Marching, Two By Two...
The ants ARE marching two by two, because of the torrential downpours of late here in Arkansas and in Oklahoma. However, the ants are not marching into my mailbox anymore and for this fact I am eternally grateful.
I am moving. Moving entails packing, manic anxiety attacks about everything left to do, packing, fixing things before a house goes on the market, packing, and running over a million details in your mind instead of sleeping. It's 10:52am and I've just begun to try to check items off my 479 item to-do list. Will I get the electricity turned on at my new apartment in time? Will I get the electricity turned off in the house in time? Should I leave it on for future home buyers to look at the house? Will they leave the lights on and air running resulting in a phenomenally outrageous electric bill for a house I won't even be living in anymore?
I have already had to unpack boxes to find my checks which were packed away without a thought that I might need a new book before moving day. I guess it's true what they say about one step forward an two steps back. I really don't like that philosophy though -- it takes an awfully long time to get anywhere. I also "tapped" a box of books with the wheel of my truck trying to pull in the garage in a rainstorm at 4:30am this morning after an emergency call. I just barely pushed it but the corner of the box crumpled and I'm afraid to open it and survey the damage!!!
Please bear with me as I take my new great adventure, as you will be reading my attempts to jump outside my boundaries, to follow my dreams, and to sail into the wild blue yonder. My adventures in Arkansas are soon coming to an end and I will greatly miss my colleagues and my home but I am ever so excited for a new adventure. I look forward to expanding my horizons in the great state of Texas.
And just to round out the random title of this post and mention the elusive ants again...I really wish all those ants that plague me on a daily basis would each take a box and head over to 75 and go south. I could really use their help about now! I must continue the packing expedition. I wish a lovely, brilliant, and extra-inspiring Tuesday to you all.
