A Death in the Family
It's not something to joke about, I know. A dear friend of mine just lost someone close to her. But there's been a death in my family, too. It's my 2005 Gateway Tablet PC. Now you know why I haven't been writing. I'm anxiously awaiting my waiting list iPad2 which I've purchased in the interim to get me through until I can buy the MacBook Pro that I've been salivating after. However, since I have had a house on the market for a year now, I am not rolling in even the smallest number of pennies.
I have to finish blogging my trip to the Smokey Mountains and start the amazing Arizona in December collection. I have to post pictures from the Wichita Mountains a few weeks ago. I'm just so behind. Stress has been high as of late -- and not kind. Changes are in the air and big decisions must be made. However, hopefully I will set aside some precious free time to get with it and journal these experiences of my life. Before I get too old. Before my ovaries get any moldier. Before my teeth begin to fall out one by one and before I must walk with a stoop. That happens quickly when you work too much. Think of all the places I must go before then!! Patagonia, Nepal (Kyle's idea), Denali, Acadia, Napa, Washington state and so on. I also have thousands of books to read. But I have to be up at 5am for the gym tomorrow so I can't do it right now. Must. Go. Sleep. Call time has rebounded and come upon me even though I was just on the weekend before last. I'm hoping to make the best of it and pack up my tripod and camera gear and head out in between calls to shoot some corn fields. "Corn fields?" you say. Yes, corn fields, with rows of stalks almost as tall as me and bright blue skies to frame them appropriately. You gotta work with what you have and right now on the texas prairie -- it's corn.
