Tickets to America's Largest Home are $60.00 per person. Get there early and plan to spend the whole day. It's amazing. The architecture, the conservatory, the indoor swimming pool and bowling alley, the kitchens, the grounds...there aren't words.
The Vanderbilt's famous abode -Biltmore was opened around Christmas in 1895. Designed by architect Richard Morris Hunt, the French chateau-style "house" has 250 rooms that sit on 125,000 acres. Frederick Law Olmstead, creator of NY's Central Park, is credited with the estate design.
