Raindrops keep fallin on my head.....

You know you finished that verse.  My mom used to sing it to me.  In this case, it's really true.  Here's how it all happened.

Kyle, bless his dear, dear, best husband in the world hide, had to work tonight.  I had to work today.  Cody went to spend the night at a friend's house.  Woe is me.  Girls night out!!  Anyway, Kate and I set about to cross one off the edibles list to add to the My Fare Ladies blog.  (This to come)  We first picked Republic on Classen Curve but it was noisy and crowded with a substantial wait.  And we, classy as we are, were in our scrubs from work.  Who wouldn't want to be us?  All the cutesy little teeny boppers that were all gussied up stuffed the place from every corner in so we packed up and headed to the Paseo district for a little more low, key artsy feel.

Funny thing about Kate and I -- we have a few of the same conversations over again.  And they go exactly the same way.  I mean we say the exact same sentences.  [kate] Sauce is just over there and it's good. [me] Ahhh, it makes me think of my fav place in McKinney [kate] oh no, not Texas again.  Please don't talk about the grocery stores.  OKC is where it's at.  Maybe its a chain. [me] No it's not a chain!  It was Sauce on the Square in Mckinney.  [kate] Haven't we had this convo before? [me] Wait didn't we say just exactly the same things?  [kate] Oh well.

So we go to Picasso's.  I ordered the Ahi tuna "indian taco" something-or-other dish with some type of delish mango salsa and creme fraiche.  Mmmm mmmm good.  And the sangria matched.  While we reminisced about Kate's affinity for Brittney Spears and the fact that every time I ride with her the same CD is playing -- Must have been a Bishop McGuinness thing from way back -- the live music came on.  Kate remarked that she thought it was going to be hoe-down music.  I thought [no way!]  It was semi- hoe-down music. The Dizzy Pickers -  were quite--well, dizzily picking.  We will post a link on My Fare Ladies if you want an ear worm for the day.  But beware, its a black picture with decent sound - don't expect to see them dizzily picking.  What does this look like -- a front row seat?

I forgot to mention that when we arrived at Picasso's we opted to sit outside because although the sky was darkening it was a beautiful evening with a cool breeze.  It was also about to come a monsoon.  We moved inside and luckily a booth just opened up.  By the time we left the rain had slowed and we took a tour of streets so Kate could transport herself back in time and drive me by Westminster Middle School and Bishop McGuinness.  I was exclaiming how my middle school was in the projects (to which she didn't believe).  [okay, side note-- I forgot to mention that when we got back in her explorer it was wet because someone left the sunroof partially open (ah-hem)]  As I was "exclaiming that my middle school was in the projects" water came pouring down out of the sun roof into my left ear.  I screeched.  At random times it kept pouring.  Then, drip.  drip. drip.  Everytime I would "exclaim" something exciting the water would hit me in the head causing me to go into rip-roaring laughter at the thought of telling my great stories while getting doused with rainwater from the roof of the car.  What fun!  I don't think I finished any of my stories.  She totally missed out.

I'll let you pop on over to My Fare Ladies for the upcoming link to Picasso's Cafe delectable dishes and decide if it will be on YOUR list of edibles!
