Camels are from the Desert
Dromedaries are camels with one hump and are known for their low-fat milk. They are also known as Arabian camels. Two-humped camels, in contrast, are called Bactrian camels and are indigenous to western, central, and eastern Asia.
So, you may be thinking, "What does Siloam Springs, AR have to do with humped camels and Arabia or Asia?" Well, believe it or not, there is a connection. These were our patients this week.

A little boy walks up with his dad. They were waiting on the facilities because they had brought some cows in to be worked on. I expected the little boy to have this totally amazed and awed look on his face. Instead he walked right up to our newest veterinarian and proceeded to whistle and say, "Those boys had an awful long drive all the way from the desert." The doctor smiled and said, "Why do you say that?" The boy cocked a hip and looked at him like he just fell off the turnip truck and said, "Well, duh, because that's where camels live, mister." The doctor replied, "Well I can't argue with that!"
Kids really do say the darndest things.
