My sad little sorry excuse for Christmas cheer through innovative and creative lighting...
My little house was dark and dreary after the Thanksgiving holidays. I was craving a little holiday cheer and tackled the job of putting a few festive Christmas lights outside. On the south side of my driveway I wrapped a tree trunk in tiny green lights and put a reindeer (Rudolph, to be exact) out to graze pasture.....
And I decided that my one little poorly designed and strangely shaped flowerbed in the front yard needed some Christmas cheer also. In my defense, I did not design, put in, or plant anything but purple coneflowers and some annuals in that awful flowerbed. In addition, it takes up too much space and is completely taken over by 3 large round boxwoods and 2 huge nandias and a sickly looking plum tree. There is no bed against the house at this time so I have had to make do with this.....
Aside from all the holiday lighting challenges and the fact that absolutely no one that I know will be able to enjoy them, I hope that someone gets a little joy from them. Who knows!? Maybe some of you will actually come visit me. And if all else fails, I can have peace knowing that I have provided Rudolph with lots of green pasture to enjoy himself in. Even though it's a sad little pathetic light display with no complementing lights on the house (I have no ladder) and no pretty green wreath with a red bow and a spotlight (that's for you, mom) at least it's something. Right?
