Wedding Weather

We went to the land of green chiles.  This is the story of our wedding:

Ringing the bell at Hacienda Dona Andrea

Santa Fe has always been a place after my own heart.  The mountains are amazing and have, from the very beginning, been significant to my relationship with my husband.  It seemed only fitting that we celebrate our love for each other somewhere in the mountains.   Hacienda Dona Andrea de Santa Fe is located in Cerillos, New Mexico near Santa Fe.  It provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding.  Surrounded by a small group of our family and friends, we said, "I do" in the perfect place. 

We had planned for a sunset wedding overlooking the mountains.  Mother Nature didn't like that idea.  The clouds rolled in and the temperature dropped (thankfully the wind stayed bearable).  A large cloud loomed over the mountains spitting rain in small bursts and heavy downpours.  The forecast said snow was likely in the mountains.  Snow we wanted.  Rain was a bummer.  But it's good luck - as was the rainbow that appeared right before the ceremony.  We took that as a good omen.

We danced in the rain.  My hair held up.  We didn't get our sunset pictures but we had the most amazing day (and cake!)
