Celebrating What's Right With the World

In my attempts to infuse a little creativity and passion into my scientific life, I often read my "Outdoor Photographer" magazine and dream of all the places I'd like to take my camera.  Often, I'll get on the website and browse the galleries or peruse the articles on tips and tricks.  Unfortunately, it's not often enough that I actually get to take my camera out of the bag.

My favorite photographer, Galen Rowell, passed away in an airplane crash some time ago.  I have been looking for another "mentor of light" to look for inspiration.  If you read OP, you'll have read Dewitt Jones' column and may have come across his facebook page or blog.  I encourage you to take a look at it.  It precisely defines what photography means to me and is a fresh new way to look at the world.

Go check it out for yourself:

Or search celebrate what's right on facebook.

You won't be sorry.

I also highly encourage you to look at:

You'll want to make the pumpkin cookies with cream cheese icing.  And maybe the roasted hazelnut nutella roulade. Or maybe the toffee apple tart tartin with vanilla filo crust.
