October 7th
October 7th is a very special day. An ultra-phenominal, everybody loves it, outrageous, other days wanna be it, very special day. Here's why:
1) It's our wedding anniversary. Don't you wish it were yours?
2) It's our dear friend's daughter, Rylan's birthday (easy to remember, huh?)
3) Finally, It's Pistol Pete's birthday!!
How cool is that? We share our anniversary with Pistol Pete!
So here's how we are going to celebrate (mostly the entire weekend):
Right now I am drinking coffee with the fireplace on watching HGTV, flipping through the latest Pottery Barn catalog. Kyle is sleeping. Yes, this is celebrating for us -- don't laugh. I got the wedding cake out of the freezer to thaw (and I've been trying to contact IKEA with no avail...they owe me door hardware!!!!!).
This afternoon we are going to the Heritage Hills' Historic Homes and Gardens tour. I have so been looking forward to this. No, I'm not 80 years old. I just have an inherent interest in architecture and design. And I love landscape architecture too. I'm really excited about this. The tickets are the "paper" that you are supposed to get each other for your first anniversary. Well, that's my paper. Kyle's is the entire collection of Louis L'amour stories. He is going to love it, that is, unless he reads this first. (Nah, he won't)
Tonight we are going to enjoy a lovely dinner at Nonna's and come home to eat our wedding cake that probably tastes like pure sugar after being frozen for a year. But hey, it was fantastic a year ago.
Tomorrow, we are going to church and heading to Stillwater for Rylan's birthday party. If you need ideas for a children's gift you should really check out The Learning Tree - it's fantastic. [Thanks Kate, for the suggestion!] After the party we are heading to Newcastle to celebrate a slightly belated occasion with a chili party for my cousin Liz's birthday. Talk about an awesome day! Everybody loves October the 7th. And, Pistol Pete is super sad we can't make his party. Just so you know.

Happy Anniversary! I can NOT believe that it's been a year already! I hope that cake tasted good (ours was thrown out after my parent's lost power in a tornado and had to empty out their freezer, but we had a bottle of champagne from the reception - much better anyway).
