Black Point and Merritt Island Wildlife Refuges

On a whim we were driving the Florida coast and gazing at the JFK Space Center from afar (a definite visit for next time) and we came across some wildlife refuges.  Being the adventuresome family that we are, we grabbed the camera and went to see what we could find. Florida is definitely a bird watchers haven.

A duck hunter's dream....too bad for them it's protected.  I am kind of glad.

This guy (or gal?) looks pretty rough.  Too many bar fights resulted in the malformed hindleg.
