People just don't go packing heat all willy nilly......

This is basically a catch-up blog. A lot has happened in the past 5 or 6 days! I turned 31 (arghumph...I mean 29, again), went to the lake with my family, laughed hysterically about a quote from the Tulsa World, set up my Wii, played Rockband, bought a Mandevilla, did surgery for 8 hours straight with no breaks, no food, and no sitting and then laughed again. Let's start from the beginning:

After working for 4 weekends in a row I was ready for a vacation. My birthday was last weekend and, as you know, I've been dreading it. My family and I decided to take a trip to Lake Texoma for the weekend. Kyle couldn't make it because he had his last Saturday EMT class. We drove to the lake and while the guys played golf, me, my mom and my cousin visited, went to the grocery store in Kingston, and shopped around at the local greenhouse/nursery until everyone was back to go out and eat that night. Actually we also visited the local Caney Creek Beer Garden (just to check it out, of course) and we drove the golf cart around and looked at all the beautiful lakefront homes. At the greenhouse I bought a mandevilla. Oh, how I love the way it twists and turns up the hanging hook. It's wispy. I have a thing for wispy. Always have, always will. I read the Tulsa World's Letters to the Editor section and zoned in on an article about concealed weapons. The article said, "People just don't go packing heat all willy nilly." I thought this was funny. Hilarious. Absolutely knee-slappingly amusing. Willy Nilly. Everything became willy nilly for the rest of the weekend and every time it was mentioned I laughed for -- I'm not kidding you here -- a full 10 minutes. We ate at a catfish restaurant -- it was fantastic and fried and very bad for me. I am a very bad person for eating it and enjoying it and now I have to fast for 467 days.

The next day we got up early and had coffee and reminisced amongst ourselves telling funny stories. People were doing things all willy nilly. We ate breakfast at the marina and headed out on the water.

The lake was great but very choppy. Did I mention I get sea sick?? We anchored out and jumped in the water. The waves and wakes from the passing boats were significant. My stomach started to roll. I swam up and sat on the beach with the water just over my legs. The incoming tsunamis were enough to throw me off balance and make my legs go straight up in the air. My stomach was still rolling and by then I had sand in my drawers. I decided to go sit on the boat. I fell asleep in the front of the boat with my mouth open for about 30 minutes. The front of me now looks like a lobster. Just the front, not the back. I got back up and stood on the shore until we left to head back. It was my birthday. My cousin, Matt, has almost the same birthday as me...just two days later. Okay, so that's not almost the same. It's different. But who cares? We have birthday's near one another's. We haven't celebrated together in years - since we were knee-high to a grasshopper. We wore Transformers birthday hats and ate each others icing.

Admit it. We are cool. You want to be us. All willy nilly and such.

We had way too good a time watching my little cousin Jake get the bottom of his shirt stuck on his two bottom teeth and then giggle because he couldn't figure out how to get it unstuck. We named the boat Littly Willy Nilly and since all the big yachts on the lake have a little boat associated we decided to get a boat for the regular boat and name it Little Willy's Dinghy. And the theme song for the lake became "Little Willie, " by Sweet. It goes something like this:

North side, east side Little Willy, Willy wears the crown, he's the king around town Dancing, glancing

Willy drives them silly with his star shoe shimmy shuffle down

Way past one, and feeling alright 'cause with little Willy round they can last all night

Hey down, stay down, stay down down 'cause little Willy, Willy won't go home

But you can't push Willy round Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no Little Willy, Willy won't go home up town, down town Little Willy, Willy drives them wild with his run-around style Inside, outside Willy sends them silly with his star-shine shimmy shuffle smile.

My favorite part is little Willy's star shine shimmy shuffle smile.

Peace Out. Willy Rocks.
