Blessed, Aliens, and Antelopes
"Why," you ask am I blessed? Well, for one nothing exciting has happened all week long. That may be construed as a good thing. I worked, a lot. And I worked this weekend. And next weekend. And the weekend after that. I didn't have to see any monkeys or other weird things. Oh, but I did see a racoon. A single racoon. And I did blood cytology on antelope blood - for one of the other doctors. I did not have to personally get the blood from the antelope. The weather has been phenomenal. A little rain earlier in the week but absolutely gorgeous 80's - 70's in the evenings. Tonight the river valley is supposed to get down to 49! The record low for that area on this day is 48! It's going to get down to 54 here. I might stay up just to experience it.
I do know that one exciting thing happened. I sucessfully completed my first solo left flank cryporchidectomy. It was an exciting and beautiful thing.
I watched "The Soloist." I didn't like it. Tonight I am watching "War of the Worlds" again. It's more my speed, but I must say I really don't like those tripod things. They freak me out. Aliens freak me out. I will probably be up all night having bad dreams that those awful things are in my house.
I strayed from my Wii workout program and actually went outside and took a jog today. Work was extra stressful as we were extraordinarily busy today. I had a woman say she wasn't particulary impressed with me the first time I saw her in December but that I made up for it today and she really likes me now. What? What is that? Why would you say that to someone? Maybe I was super busy that day and didn't have 45 minutes to talk to her about her brother's 45 dogs that have a potpourri of problems. However, she was impressed with my knowledge of something-or-ruther today and thought I was worthy of being her veterinarian. People are so strange. It's not like I'm any different than I was in December. Well, my hair is different. Maybe she likes my hair better.
This brings up the subject of my hair. As you know, if you read my blog often, my hair kind of rules my life. It's just because I have so much of it. The time I have to worry about it and/or fix it takes up countless hours of my life. I cut the length to just above my shoulders in June. However, it was all one length and was very heavy and really had no definition. I hate it when my hair has no definition. This week I got it layered. I love it. I have a few bangs and lots of volume. It is more difficult to restrain while I'm working but get this....I put a hat on to go jogging today and when I took the hat off my sweaty head a couple hours later, my hair was not stuck to my head and other than being wet, looked fantastic!
That, ladies and gentlemen, is being blessed. Not to mention all my absolutely wonderful family and friends. "Hello, how are you guys? I haven't seen you in forever!"
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Saturday night with sweet dreams void of aliens. I'm going to have a hard time with that one.

Good to hear about your hair. I wish I had a lot of it. I do, its just so fine & just stays blah no matter what. Maybe I will find a stylist that actually knows how to fix & cut it someday. We need to come visit soon!!!!! :)
