I can definitely relate to the lyrics from that Bombshel song. I've been off for an entire week of vacation. You heard me right. An entire week. It's been a year and a half since I've had a full week off and I loved it. I feel retired. I have been horrible about updating my blog recently and vow to do better especially as my favorite season is here and the holidays loom around the corner.

Kyle and I had planned an awesome backpack trip at the end of this past week. We had all our gear loaded into the packs and ready to go. I even had on my new North Face hiking shoes but alas, Mother Nature was plotting against us. The rain and soaking mist ruined our hopes of making a fire after the first 8 to 10 miles of trail and we were determined to wait it out. However, we caught a movie, grilled burgers and took an amazing beautiful autumn drive over to Eureka Springs to tool around town, drink hot apple cider and enjoy the shops and crisp weather. We didn't get to backpack but are planning to revisit the idea in a couple of weeks.

I didn't get my pumpkin carved. No one provided me with brainstorming ideas and I have been so unmotivated to delve into my creativity that I just refused to do it. I guess that moment will just pass me by this year. Better luck next year.
