The Object of My Affection
It's here. It's happened. Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl arrived at my doorstep with much pent up anticipation. It's fantastic. It's my new favorite book. And even if I don't make all the recipes (it's impossible to cook all that food for one person) I still get to gaze at the pictures of the country kids and the horses. Isn't that little one in cowboy boots the cutest thing you've ever seen?? "But momma, I don't want to wope. Tell daddy I don't want to wope."
There's guacamole. And pictures of fenceposts. There's dutch ovens and bassett hounds. And sunrises. See, I can identify with PW. We both have the souls of shutterbugs and a yearning in our hearts for ranchlife. We can both identify with pre-adolescent, teenage, and college citylife followed by an intense joy of country landscapes and people in cowboy hats. What this means is that her blog and her cookbook "reach" me. I like them. It's a cool book. It's in the same category as Williams-Sonoma, red Starbucks cups, my photography, and sushi rolls. I do like Kyle a bit more than my new cookbook, but let's hope I never have to pick between them. ;)
I must go read more.
