What happens on a weekend away from work??

FUN!  Kyle had some continuing education at the Sheriff's and Peace Officer's meeting in OKC last week.  I drove up and met him Friday night and got to see several familiar faces and meet some new ones.  We stayed out a little late and I didn't even fall asleep.  I was so proud.

On Saturday we went out for breakfast.  This never happens.  Never.  It was so nice to relax and laugh and go out for breakfast.  We headed over to the fairgrounds for the Backwoods Hunting and Fishing Expo.  It was entertaining - not as big as I expected.  Kyle had a good time and I almost have him talked into going on a bear hunt in Canada so I can go along with my camera.  Okay, well, so he almost has me talked into it -- but it would be fun to go along with my camera.  We left and sauntered on over to the book sale going on a few buildings over.  It was so crowded and the line to check out was preposterously long - we left empty handed en route for Lake Hefner.

It was a beautiful weekend and we walked around the lake and sat by the fire on the porch at Red Rock.  Kyle's mom and dad met us for outstanding mexican food.  The fish tacos were delish.  The evening capped with a trip to our favorite place - Barnes and Noble.  We just love browsing the shelves and being around the books.  We ran into my uncle Max, who was also persuing the piles of carefully crafted words made into some of the world's best treasures.  Kyle, of course, found a few things and I brought my Nook along.  We sat happily in the cafe reading and smiling at each other because we were perfectly content sitting quietly and reading together.

And par for the course, I was asleep by 9:30pm.  Thats high speed.

Pictures from Brad and Natalie's engagement party and a few from Lake Hefner to come soon!
