Officially Oktoberfest

Well, Oktoberfest was in September here in Texas.  If they had waited another week or so it would have properly been in October with frostier temperatures and the correct time of year.  However, it was still quite entertaining.  I went by myself.  With my camera on my shoulder.  Meandering and smiling at all the lovely people whom I know were wondering, "Whatever is this crazy single woman doing walking around by herself cheesing at everyone?"  Nevertheless, I had fun.  I enjoyed myself and the people.  People in German beer tents eating baklava and potato pancakes.

I ran into a local photographer who had a booth set up and was intrigued by the model of camera I was carrying.  I stopped to chat and look at his work.  He actually lives in the town I work in.  I shopped in the local boutiques and did not have one morsel of German food.  But, I did listen to the yodelers.  And I smiled.  My collection of pictures from this day is sad and awful but I'll post a few anyway:

Children running through the maze of shoes

They were having the time of their lives!

Except for him.  He's bored now.  He found the middle and is ready for some other type of mental stimulation.

The Oktoberfest train.  The engineer dresses like that everyday, even when he's not driving the train. Choo choo!

The guy in the red on the left is having way too much fun.  And, just so you all know, I had my face painted just like this kid's!!!
